You’ve Got This (or you will, soon)

Debra Burgin You've Got ThisWatermelon Wonder is one hot color!  I’m not sure this photo really captures it correctly — that lovely lacy ribbon should be pinker.  It is not orange.  (Sometimes by the time I get done with my photo editing, I feel so far away from the real-life subject.  It’s frustrating, and I need to get this problem solved!)

Anyway, I wanted to watercolor this image from You’ve Got This (soon to be available!).  Along with Watermelon Wonder, I used Pumpkin Pie to play up the coral tones.  The leaves are in Old Olive, and I created a mask of the flower image so I could over-stamp the crosshatch image as a background.  I love the way it looks like crayon scribbling!

How to create the mask?  Stamp the image on a large sticky note, along the top edge so that most of the image will be sticky on the back side.  Then fussy cut the image.  To use it, place over the prepared panel and stamp over the mask.  Remove it carefully and save it in the stamp case so you don’t have to make another one.

I think you’ll love this trim; although it’s wide (1″), it’s so soft and not at all bulky.
